SendApp MCP

What it is

The SendApp MCP server connects AI assistants compatible with the Model Context Protocol to SendApp: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, n8n and other MCP clients. The assistant uses your real data — contacts, chats, campaigns, automations, agenda, orders — with the permissions you choose.

How to connect (recommended)

1. In your AI application add a custom MCP connector with the address https://app.sendapp.ai/api/mcp.
2. Press Connect: SendApp opens. Sign in with the owner account (operators cannot connect applications).
3. Choose Read and act for me or Read only and press Allow. Done: no key to copy.

• Claude (web and desktop): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
• ChatGPT: in the Apps & Connectors settings, with developer mode on, create a connector with the address above.
• Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http sendapp https://app.sendapp.ai/api/mcp
• Cursor and VS Code: add an HTTP MCP server with the address above (mcp.json); the SendApp sign-in opens on first use.

With the API key (advanced)

For n8n, Make, scripts and clients that cannot sign in: send your API key in the X-API-Key header (or Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY). Only if the client cannot set headers: https://app.sendapp.ai/api/mcp?apikey=YOUR_API_KEY (not recommended: the key ends up in logs). The API key has full access, like the REST API: create one for each integration in Settings → API keys (it is shown once, when you create it).

Security and limits

• Only the owner can connect an application, and chooses whether it may only read or also act.
• Actions that send messages, launch campaigns or change bookings happen at once, on real customers: AI apps ask you to confirm them first.
• You can disconnect an application at any time from Settings → Connected AI assistants.
• A plan with API access is required. Limit: 120 calls per minute per workspace (60 for actions).
• WhatsApp: free-form messages only reach people who wrote to you in the last 24 hours; everyone else needs an approved template.

Technical details

• Streamable HTTP transport, JSON-RPC 2.0, no sessions; MCP protocol from 2024-11-05 to 2026-07-28 (server/discover).
• OAuth 2.1 authorization with PKCE (S256), dynamic client registration and Client ID Metadata Documents; metadata at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource and /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server.
• Fewer tools: add ?toolsets=contacts,inbox to the address to expose only some areas (account, contacts, tags, fields, lists, inbox, messaging, templates, campaigns, automations, agenda, commerce, team, reports, ai).
